## Is Asciilands free to play?

Yes. The official FAQ says the game is free, with voluntary donations supporting development and hosting. Start through the official browser game; this guide does not sell game access.

## Can I play Asciilands on a phone?

The official FAQ currently supports desktop and laptop browsers. Mobile support is discussed as a possible future step, not a released feature or a promised date. This guide itself works on mobile so you can read it beside a computer.

## Do I need Discord to play?

You can enter as a guest. Link Discord for cross-device character access and the Friends, Parties and Towns systems. Use the official game’s sign-in; no account is required on this guide.

## Does guest progress save?

The game saves progress on the server, including guest progress. A guest character’s access belongs to its browser. Clearing site data, changing browser profiles or closing a private session can lose access even though progress was saved server-side.

## Will there be world wipes?

Wipes remain possible. The official FAQ describes a preference to limit a necessary wipe to builds and the world where possible, rather than necessarily removing items. This is not a no-wipe guarantee or a published wipe schedule.

## Where should I start crafting?

Gather wood, stone and fiber, make four planks, and place a workbench from Build. Use that station for a stone axe or pickaxe, then equip the finished tool from Pack. The beginner guide walks through the full loop.

## Is the Anvil where I forge a new weapon?

The current help assigns metal heads and blades to the Forge. The Anvil repairs equipment. Assemble the finished head with a handle and optional binding at a Workbench.

## Do buildings disappear after exactly 24 hours?

The published rule says wilderness buildings begin decaying after a day. It does not say every piece is destroyed at exactly that time. Maintain repairs pieces, and claimed town land introduces town permissions and upkeep responsibilities.

## How much does town upkeep cost?

The current in-game help gives a rate of 1 gold per plot per day. If treasury funds run out, the town has seven days to pay before its claim lapses. The upkeep planner estimates reserves; it does not read your live treasury.

## Can other players take items from my chest?

The current help says chests and stations are accessible to anyone within reach. Doors use ownership and town building permission, but storage does not become private just because it is on town land.

## Do I lose my inventory when I die?

The current official help says inventory is retained after death. Respawn returns you to your last rest point. If its camp or campfire has gone, you return to the starting location.

## How many players fit in a party?

Up to eight. Party invitation links last 24 hours and must be accepted in Social after entering the world. Parties survive reconnects; party chat clears when the browser closes.

## Is this the official Asciilands wiki?

## How do I report a bug or a changed rule?
